Overview
SUNRISE - Safety assUraNce fRamework for connected, automated mobIlity SystEms - is a Horizon Europe project building a safety assurance framework for connected and automated mobility (CCAM). Rather than certifying a single autonomous driving stack in isolation, SUNRISE develops methods to rank and validate the safety of different automated agents (planners, controllers, perception stacks) against each other, so that safety claims can be compared on common ground.
What I worked on
My contribution sits on the assurance side: contributing to the framework that ranks agents by how safely they behave across a set of scenarios, rather than by a single pass/fail metric. The intent is a framework that generalizes across vehicle types and automation levels, not one tuned to a single platform.
